H.I.M

As the wind roars loud
And rain pours down
They close their eyes
As we start to drown
And our homes
Become our graves.

“It’s not our fault”
They repeatedly say,
"The science is flawed
It will be okay
Don’t change
your fossilised habits.”

Instead of trying
to mitigate
Lives are lost
To accommodate
the higher echelons
Of a flawed society.

Ask them now
As they warm the sea
“Why won’t you act
To stop this catastrophe?”
Keep shouting
Until they listen.

In Difference

I don't have much
in common with them
They tell me that
Again and again

They don't have much
In common with me
That's pretty clear
For most to see

I think it's best
To love each other
But don't believe
That love should smother

I used to think
They thought that too
But now I don't
Believe they do.

Bird in a cage

My prison of glass
and walls and steel
Chained to a computer
A hamster on a wheel

I'm entertaining
the darkest of thoughts
To find the peace
I've always sought

I do not feel
all that well
But it doesn't matter
Who I tell

The problem here
Is plain to see
The object of my suffering?

It’s me.

June 22nd 2016

The muggiest of days
Where sweet air
Offers no reprieve
Only 48 hours
Until I hope
To be relieved

A tripartite lesson

A tripartite lesson.

Difficult it is for me
To  let go of this possibility
But let it go
I know I must
Or I shall dampen
Dull then rust
Be burned repeatedly
By a lack of trust
And be reduced to embers.

Difficult it is for you
For me to not be like them too
but I must make
this show of no
or over the cliff
our sense will go
contorted in a dance
of to and fro
until we trip and fall to earth.

Difficult it is to make
Decisions, pick the path to take
But make a choice
Is what I've done
So hear my voice
Give up this one
Move on with your escapades
Neither has won
Yet this game has reached its conclusion.

2015: STOP THE MADNESS!!

Over commercialisation

Loss of rationalisation

Engineered entertainment

born of exploitation

Low budget programming

spawned from crass generalisations

“Tesco law”

and coke with my name on

Adult “Dick and Dom”

Not one meaningful song

A showbiz circus train

everyone’s riding along

Someone bang the gong

and STOP THE MADNESS.

How did it all go so wrong?

What we do

What we do

Dip a toe in
Don’t jump head first
Assess how deep it is
So you don’t get hurt

All these things
We know are true
But wilfully ignore
When we do what we do

Don’t shit here
It’s on your doorstep
Show no weakness
So they can’t extort it

All these things
We know are true
But wilfully ignore
When we do what we do

Too late now
We've already done it
People will find out
So its just how we spin it

All these things
We know are true
Will try to remember
With the one after you.
